MEET THE REPEATER OWNERS

Repeaters on the lists below are open to all operators with a valid license unless otherwise noted. The owners of these repeaters have provided them to the GMRS community at no charge to the community, but at great expense to themselves. Commercial radio equipment is expensive. Getting it running and keeping it running requires time, effort and money as does finding great locations to lease antenna space. As a courtesy to them please follow the FCC guidelines, including identifying yourself with your GMRS call sign, and following any additional protocols the repeater owner has specified. Some people have expressed an interest in helping the repeater owners offset their costs of maintaining their repeaters, so that we all can continue to enjoy GMRS. below is a list of some repeater owners in the valley with information on extra protocols and contribution information.                SPECIAL PROTOCOLS: Paul likes peace and harmony on his repeaters, he is not trying to invade anyone’s freedom of speech, just trying to make the environment pleasant for all. while he doesn’t mind if controversial subjects (such as politics or religion) are brought up briefly, but if a topic of conversation starts to draw a strong debate, please change the subject.  Also NEVER engage a jammer, if someone is jamming just ignore them, don’t key up on them, wait until they end transmission and continue your conversation as if you did not hear them.

               SPECIAL PROTOCOLS:  Ian’s Comments:  The Patriot 600 machine is open to all licensed GMRS users (open repeater).  All discussion topics are welcome and encouraged.  Please follow all FCC regulations and avoid foul or crude language. Courtesy and respect is the name of the game, as we are all here to strengthen our skills and improve our equipment.  Always be child friendly, as young adults do listen and participate.
