I know when I was new to GMRS I got tired of hearing the repeater ID all the time. Finally I learned by entering the same receive PL tone as the transmit tone I wouldn't hear the repeater ID. Now I program one channel with only the transmit PL and another with both transmit and receive tones. I ID one channel with QT added to the name to identify it as the quite tone channel.
Hope this helps any new people tired of hearing the repeater ID tones all the time...
